Dear Yulegoat,

Welcome! I'm super excited we matched up for this challenge! I'm sure I'll be thrilled with whatever you decide to write, and I hope something here pings your interest! I like gen, het, slash, femslash, poly-ships (poly-v too), etc. You're welcome to interpret my character noms as any, rather than all, though you're free to include all characters in a fic if you want! I'm also okay with not including all of the nominated characters. Also, if you want to include unnominated characters, I'm absolutely okay with that too!

What I Love:

I'm really, really into gothic romance/gothic horror/horror of any stripe. I also love ambiguous/happy for now/sad endings. I love things that are not necessarily tied up with a neat pretty bow. That's not to say I don't enjoy a happy ending, though! This is mostly just to reassure you, the author, that if a happy ending doesn't seem to fit the story, or isn't coming, don't stress about it. I love endings that fit the story being told, regardless of whether or not they're happy. Aside from horror, I like romcoms, romcoms/comedies of errors, found family/families of choice, strong platonic friendships, broad comedy, understated/subtle comedy, cats (characters adopting/owning cats, turning into cats, caring for cats, cat familiars, werecats, etc.), religious and philosophical themes, postmodernism, and pastiche/epistolary to name just a few.

I also probably won't have prompts/ideas for every iteration of the characters I've nominated, but if you would prefer to focus on an individual character rather than a friendship or romantic pairing that's fine too!

Holiday themed fics are totally awesome (and some of my prompts may involve holiday themes) but you don't have to write one centered around the holidays if you don't want to! If you do, I celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah.

Prompts/ideas:
I love post-canon/"what happens next" fic for all of the characters (nominated and unnominated), especially for a book like this. I'm also intrigued by the possibilities of post-canon Dani/Julia, and what life looks like for Lynnette after the events of the book. Does the group further splinter apart or become even closer?

I really like Lynnette as the main narrator, so I would be thrilled to see more of her/her life after the events of the book. At the end of the book, Lynnette visits Stephanie in prison; how do those visits go? Is Lynnette able to reach her?

There's a moment in the book where it's revealed that Dani agonizes over whether or not she killed the right person (in a nod to Laurie Strode's storyline in Halloween: Resurrection). I'd love more of those sorts of introspective moments for the final girls; we know what haunts them literally, but what haunts them figuratively? What do they dream about? What plagues their nightmares? Are there missed opportunities they wish they'd taken? People they wish they'd kept in their lives or people they wish they'd cut off?

If you want to get a little supernatural, what if Adrienne becomes a ghost? Is she malevolent, intent on seeking revenge for herself or others, or more of a guiding spirit for her fellow final girls?

It's left sort of ambiguous as to whether or not Heather's Dream King is real or a hallucination; maybe he is real and she eventually finds him.

I would adore a mix of social media epistolary/pastiche elements like letters, emails/tweets, video transcripts, etc. An outsider POV of the events of the book through the lens of social media would be neat!

Or what if Connie does die? Does she become a ghost that haunts Arnold? Does she eventually get her revenge? What if she kills Arnold and they both become ghosts, tied to one another for eternity?

Is Arnold the devil? Give me an AU twist where Arnold and Connie strike a Faustian deal... Or perhaps it's Connie who's the one to tempt Arnold into giving over his soul.

What about something between Connie and her mother, or Connie and June, or the three of them? Maybe something post-canon, where Connie (as a ghost?) visits her mother and sister.

What about something steeped in 1960s-era nostalgia? Or an exploitation horror take on it like something in the vein of The Last House on the Left or a slasher like Halloween?

Oates' short story was inspired by Bob Dylan's It's All Over Now, Baby Blue (which was inspired by the real-life serial killer Charles Schmid). Also please feel free to borrow from the film adaptation Smooth Talk if you want!

Ideas/prompts:
I'm endlessly fascinated with Vasya and Yuriy, and their relationship throughout the course of the show. I'll take them however you want to write them, whether that's platonic or romantic/sexual. Maybe Vasya helps Yuriy become a better person and they become actual friends; alternately, maybe Yuriy makes Vasya worse.

What if Vasya actually did take up Yuriy's offer to run off to Capri with him? Or... I'd love a missing scene from their time together on the run/on Yuriy's yacht, or when they were in prison together, or even a post-canon thing showing what happened between them after the events of s3? Maybe after Vasya's out of office they do actually run off together. I'd also adore darkfic revolving around manipulation/mindgames, emotional manipulation, dubcon/coercion, and other dark themes (like those listed in my favs).

If you don't want to write Vasya and Yuriy, I'm open to Vasya/Olha (maybe they get back together or we're shown snippets of their pre-canon life together), Vasya and his son Dima, Vasya and Svetlana, Vasya and Natasha, Vasya and Tolya, Vasya/Anna, Olha/Surikov, Serhiy/Oksana, etc.
