Dear creator!
I'm so excited to be working with you for this challenge! I'll start off by linking examples of past letters I've written here and here. Almost all of what's in those letters applies here unless otherwise noted!
I'm going to copy and paste some stuff from other "dear author" letters of mine:
What I Love: I love ambiguous/happy for now/sad endings (though I am not opposed to happy endings in the slightest). I love things that make me think, and are not necessarily tied up with a neat pretty bow.
I love characters dealing with mortality (of their careers or their lives). I also dig found family/families of choice, pining, minor miscommunication, undercover as married, mistaken for dating, pretend dating, enemies to lovers, enemies to friends to lovers, friends to lovers, poly/poly-v relationships, popular clichéd tropes inverted (i.e. gay for you, married in Vegas, A/B/O, soulmates/soulmate marks, etc), meet-cutes/meet-uglies, and epistolary/use of social media pastiche (use of fake texts, tweets, facebook posts, emails, and more. Final Girls - Riley Sager
Quincy Carpenter/Tina Stone | Samantha Boyd — I really enjoyed this book and the relationship that developed between Sam/Tina, as messed up as it was. At various points Sam/Tina comes off as the antagonist. I'd be interested in a "deleted scene" where Quincy and Sam/Tina have a moment together. Maybe Quincy reveals to Sam/Tina she doesn't really like her life and/or doesn't really want to be with Jeff, her fiancé, and one thing leads to another. Maybe Sam/Tina manipulates Quincy into a relationship, intending to later use it against her, but has an attack of the conscience.
Obviously, I'm okay with dub-con / consent issues with this pairing, but no non-con.
Or go crazy with a completely AU scenario! Put them in space, or a gothic horror. No mundane AUs (coffee shop, flower shop, high school, college, etc.) though.
The Grisha Trilogy - Leigh Bardugo
Genya Safin/Alina Starkov — I'd love an AU that ignores the novel's ending/epilogue because I HATE IT WITH THE FIRE OF A THOUSAND SUNS. Ahem. Give me a post-novel canon divergence where Alina kept her powers and she and Genya end up with the happily-ever-after! (Dead Mal ispreferable acceptable. Sorry, I'm still bitter about the ending, lol.)
Zoya Nazyalensky/Alina Starkov — Gimme an AU where Alina and Zoya are the childhood lovers, not Alina and Mal. Or maybe something set after the series, with the canon ending but... like, better. And 100% less Mal.
Zoya Nazyalensky/Genya Safin/Alina Starkov — I'd love a hookup between the three of them, either wedged into canon or slightly AU (no mundane/modern AUs please), with Zoya her usual caustic self.
Crossovers - Fandom
Joan Watson (Elementary)/Abbie Mills (Sleepy Hollow) — IIRC, both Joan and Abbie are canonically New York Mets fans. What do they think of the state of the Mets? Maybe Joan takes Abbie out to a Mets game and they end up on the kiss cam? >_> Something cute and full of baseball would make me happy. (Obviously, feel free to ignore S3 of Sleepy Hollow!)
Abbie Mills (Sleepy Hollow)/Ginny Baker (Pitch) — Abbie's a huge baseball fan and kind of a Ginny Baker groupie. What happens when the two meet and hook up? Are they able to maintain a relationship, what with their busy schedules?
Di Radfield (Cracks (2009))/Pauline Parker (Heavenly Creatures (1994)) — I recently rewatched Cracks so. Maybe Pauline meets a grown-up Di Radfield and the two commiserate about their pasts... I had this mental image of Di and Pauline meeting on a cruise ship in the '50s or '60s and having a torrid affair to escape their pasts and the women that still haunt them. (Shades of Highsmith/Ripley/etc. would be much appreciated too.)
Christine Daaé (Phantom of the Opera)/Mina Harker (Bram Stoker's Dracula) — Mina and Jonathan (or just Mina, not picky) go to a performance at the Paris Opera House, where Mina becomes enthralled with the soprano. She and Christine eventually meet and neither ever expected to find someone else who understands their experience. Neither Jonathan nor Raoul can quite understand, not like Mina and Christine do.
Peggy Carter (MCU)/Dottie Hinson (A League of Their Own) — Give me an AU where Peggy plays baseball, or a fusion where Peggy is a spy placed on the team to suss out a villain and she falls for Dottie. Competency porn is wonderful (especially baseball competency porn). Or maybe Peggy is just a fan who hooks up with her favorite ballplayer, Dottie Hinson?
Brunnhilde | Valkyrie (MCU)/Rey (Star Wars) — Write me the AU where Brunnhilde scavenges the scavenger, or scavenger Rey thinks life is finally looking up for her when the strange scavenger in the cool spaceship ~abducts her~, believing nothing could be as bad as Jakku... until she ends up in Sakaar fighting for her life.
Mary Lennox (The Secret Garden)/Sara Crewe (A Little Princess) — Perhaps something set during World War I/post-World War I with Mary and Sara meeting as adults? Or an AU where they meet as teenagers and are each other's first love.
Quincy Carpenter (Final Girls - Riley Sager)/Sidney Prescott (Scream) — Give me a fusion/AU where Sidney, rather than Lisa Milner, is a Final Girl and she instructs Quincy how to deal with the newfound fame... before someone starts stalking them both. I want Quincy and Sid having to follow the rules of Scream but within the world of Final Girls, if this makes sense.
Or maybe Quincy gets sucked into the Scream universe and realizes the rules of survival that she's lived by no longer apply... and only Sidney can help her.
Rebecca - Daphne du Maurier
Narrator (Rebecca)/Rebecca de Winter — Is the Narrator being haunted by Rebecca's malevolent ghost? Or is someone playing a trick on her? (Ghosty seduction?)
Mrs. Danvers (Rebecca)/Narrator (Rebecca) — I'd love something nice and angsty with Mrs. Danvers using the Narrator as a substitute for Rebecca de Winter. Does the Narrator care that she's only standing in for Rebecca? Or does she truly care for Mrs. Danvers? The more messed up the better.
Or perhaps write something about Mrs. Danvers' psychological manipulation of the Narrator. I'd love something with the Narrator starting out strong and resilient but slowly being broken down by Mrs. Danvers' mental assault. (This would probably be dub-con.)
Mrs. Danvers (Rebecca)/Rebecca de Winter — Give me something set before the novel, hinting at Mrs. Danvers' growing obsession with Rebecca/their growing mutual obsession. I love origin stories where we can point at them and be like "Oh, so that's how it happened. It all makes sense."
Heavenly Creatures (1994)
Juliet Hulme/Pauline Parker — I'd love a story that looks at what happened to the girls after the events of the movie, perhaps bringing in Juliet's later life as a mystery/crime fiction writer. (Pastiche/mixed media/epistolary would be awesome for this fandom.)
Summer Sisters - Judy Blume
Victoria Leonard/Caitlin Somers — I'd love something set in the future, with Caitlin returning and/or Vix finding her. How are they able to reconnect?
OR: something set in during the events of the book, and the girls' teenage years. Maybe Caitlin and Vix spend some time together without the boys and things progress from there. I'd really love something that looks at female friendship, codependency, and obsession.
If you make a vid, I'd love something that focuses on the '90s alt./grunge scene.
Elementary (TV)
Jamie Moriarty | Irene Adler/Joan Watson (Elem) — Moriarty's been sending Joan gifts for years (think cat bringing its human dead mice) but she's never made her move boldly or openly—until now. What's changed? What is Moriarty up to? (Background Joanlock (platonic or romantic) is fine, though I'd prefer the focus on Joan and Moriarty.)
I don't particularly think they'd be a healthy relationship in canon so I'm fine with a sad/bittersweet ending.
Kitty Winter/Joan Watson (Elem) — AU with Joan as the Doctor and Kitty as her companion?
Pitch (TV 2016)
Ginny Baker/Cara — Give me a hypothetical S2 where Ginny and Cara reconnect and start going out on friend-dates/hanging out/etc. before WHOOPS we're totally dating. Does Ginny feel pressure to come out and/or be public with her relationship with Cara? There was a plan for Ginny to befriend a gay teammate in S2 that obviously never materialized; what if Ginny and this teammate have more in common than either originally believed? Are people supportive or does Ginny face even more opposition?
Or maybe Ginny brings Cara home for their first Christmas as a couple.
Ginny Baker/Amelia Slater — Ginny and Amelia finally have that conversation both have been dreading since the S1 finale and the fall out of Amelia's actions. Are they able to salvage anything? With Amelia out of the picture as Ginny's agent/handler, how does their relationship evolve?
Riverdale (TV 2017)
Betty Cooper/Veronica Lodge (Riverdale) — Five times Betty and Veronica joke-kissed and the one time it was for real?
Or: Veronica realizes she's wayyy more into Dark Betty than she ought to be. (Domme Betty and sub Veronica?) (If you write explicit sex I'd prefer the characters aged up or their ages not mentioned.)
Cheryl Blossom/Veronica Lodge (Riverdale) — Cheryl's not a soft person but Veronica makes her want to be. Too bad Veronica's love isn't enough. But somehow they make it work. (If you write explicit sex I'd prefer the characters aged up or their ages not mentioned.)
Cheryl Blossom/Betty Cooper (Riverdale) — Maybe give me an extended version of that scene in S1 where Cheryl and Betty hang out in Betty's room and Cheryl gets a little too intense. I'm thinking Betty and Cheryl having aggressive sex in Betty's pastel pink bedroom. Or dark Betty coming out to play and getting the upper hand from Cheryl. (If you write explicit sex I'd prefer the characters aged up or their ages not mentioned.)

Star Wars - All Media Types
Oola/Leia Organa — Oola survives the rancor and she and Leia dance in Jabba's palace together, plotting their escape. Perhaps Leia convinces Oola to join the rebellion and they fall in love.
Rose Tico/Jessica Pava — Rose has a crush on Finn but Finn is unfortunately taken (background/mentioned Finn/Poe or Finn/Rey is fine). Then Rose meets Jessika and realizes her puppy love for Finn is nothing compared to the passion she feels for Jessika.
Rey/Rose Tico — How about a little obligala set in space, with Rey and Rose on a mission together. Maybe posing as a couple to get intel for the resistance? With Rey and Rose seeing each other in formal clothes and having mutual "whoa, she's hot!" moments?
Jyn Erso/Leia Organa — Something set in an AU or pre-RO/ANH with Leia and Jyn meeting and having a secret affair. Maybe they meet on Alderaan for some reason and hook up, before Jyn is sent away. Or perhaps force ghost Jyn comes to Leia after TLJ?
Leia Organa/Evaan Verlaine — When Laura Dern was announced for TLJ I was hoping she'd play Evaan. Alas, that wasn't the case but it did make me think... What is Evaan up to these days? What if she comes to the resistance's aid, post-TLJ, and she and Leia reconnect?
Jyn Erso/Amilyn Holdo/Leia Organa — Something AUish where they're all in the rebellion together? Maybe they meet at a function, get a little tipsy, and fall into bed together. Or maybe they're all force ghosts. Maybe force ghost Jyn and force ghost Holdo come to comfort Leia after TLJ, while she's finally dealing with her personal losses. (If Jyn survived RO, I want everyone else to have survived too.)
Jessika Pava/Rey — Rey and Jessika are sent on a mission for the resistance which involves them pretending to be a married couple.
Or, somehow, they find themselves accidentally married due to not reading the fine print before signing something or making a vow that's legally binding and difficult to get out of. How do they cope? Do they try to get out of the marriage? Do they accept it? I'd really just like something where they grow to love each other after accidental marriage.
Once again, I'd like to stress that these prompts/ideas are only suggestions! Don't feel constrained by them! Mix and match as you please, or come up with something completely on your own without my input. They're just meant as a guide.

Rey/Rose Tico — How about a little obligala set in space, with Rey and Rose on a mission together. Maybe posing as a couple to get intel for the resistance? With Rey and Rose seeing each other in formal clothes and having mutual "whoa, she's hot!" moments?
Jyn Erso/Leia Organa — Something set in an AU or pre-RO/ANH with Leia and Jyn meeting and having a secret affair. Maybe they meet on Alderaan for some reason and hook up, before Jyn is sent away. Or perhaps force ghost Jyn comes to Leia after TLJ?
Leia Organa/Evaan Verlaine — When Laura Dern was announced for TLJ I was hoping she'd play Evaan. Alas, that wasn't the case but it did make me think... What is Evaan up to these days? What if she comes to the resistance's aid, post-TLJ, and she and Leia reconnect?
Jyn Erso/Amilyn Holdo/Leia Organa — Something AUish where they're all in the rebellion together? Maybe they meet at a function, get a little tipsy, and fall into bed together. Or maybe they're all force ghosts. Maybe force ghost Jyn and force ghost Holdo come to comfort Leia after TLJ, while she's finally dealing with her personal losses. (If Jyn survived RO, I want everyone else to have survived too.)
Jessika Pava/Rey — Rey and Jessika are sent on a mission for the resistance which involves them pretending to be a married couple.
Or, somehow, they find themselves accidentally married due to not reading the fine print before signing something or making a vow that's legally binding and difficult to get out of. How do they cope? Do they try to get out of the marriage? Do they accept it? I'd really just like something where they grow to love each other after accidental marriage.
Once again, I'd like to stress that these prompts/ideas are only suggestions! Don't feel constrained by them! Mix and match as you please, or come up with something completely on your own without my input. They're just meant as a guide.
